Attorney Corry J. Brannen

Corry J. Brannen is a local Concord, North Carolina attorney hailing from Elmira, New York and the founding member of the Brannen law. Corry has been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 2012. In 2019 Corry was named one of the Top 100 Civil Lawyers in North Carolina by the National Trial Lawyers.

Corry comes from a working-class family with two brothers and a mother who was President of a local Union while working for Verizon. His father also worked for Verizon as a lineman and later became Vice President of a local Union. While in High School at Elmira Free Academy Corry was a starter and captain on both the varsity football and basketball teams. After high school Corry attended Alfred State College in New York where he also played basketball at the Junior College level and maintained part time employment. Corry graduated with an Associate of Science Degree from Alfred State. Corry received his B.S. in Pre-Law with cum laude distinctions from North Carolina A&T State University. While at North Carolina A&T State University Corry volunteered with the Guilford County Boys and Girls Club and also as a volunteer tutor for Math and English while maintaining full-time employment.

Corry received his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law where he became a member of the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Law Review his second year of law school and later served as the Managing Editor his third year. Corry also interned at the Federal Defenders Office in Raleigh, NC where he worked under some of the best Defense Attorneys in the office. During his time there he was able to do valuable research and work hand in hand with attorneys on complex federal criminal cases. Corry also interned at the North Carolina General Assembly under Senator Floyd B McKissick Jr. were he sat in on general assembly meetings, responded to constituent questions and concerns, and provided research and memos on bills being presented. Corry was also a member of the Black Law Student Association’s Trial Team where he competed against schools from across the country at the national competition in Birmingham, Alabama.

Corry has a strong work ethic that was instilled in him at a very young age by his family and he has carried that with him into law practice. Soon after becoming licensed Corry was able to fulfill a life-long dream of opening a law firm. In December 2012 the Brannen Law Firm was born. Corry primary practice areas include wills and estate planning, criminal law, and civil litigation. Within the criminal law practice Corry works cases ranging from traffic matters to felony jury trials. Corry does most of the wills and estate planning in the firm. Corry believes that everyone deserves sound and quality legal representation and strives to provide this to every client. Corry also takes on other matters but primarily focuses on the practice areas listed.
